18/05/224 (JKNN) During a recent drive, I took note of the helmet-wearing habits of two-wheeler riders. Out of a sample of 100 bikes and scooters in Srinagar , a mere 27 riders were seen with helmets securely fastened.

This alarming revelation underscores the immediate need for intervention.

I implore authorities to implement stringent penalties for those flouting helmet laws. Moreover, I urge parents to prioritize their children’s safety by ensuring they wear helmets while riding. Heightened awareness coupled with robust enforcement measures is imperative to enhance road safety and safeguard precious lives.”
