Two Held With Contraband Capsules in Srinagar, Case Registered Under NDPS Act
Srinagar, Oct 26 (KNC) : Police on Sunday morning apprehended two persons during patrolling in Srinagar’s Habbakadal–Gowkadal area and recovered a substantial quantity of contraband capsules and cash from their possession.
According to the news agency Kashmir News Corner KNC that during routine patrolling from Habbakadal to Gowkadal, two individuals coming from Gowkadal towards Ganpatyar tried to flee upon seeing the police party. However, they were tactfully apprehended.
The duo was identified as Zameer Ahmed Matta, son of Gulam Rasool Matta, resident of Basant Bhag, and Irfan Ahmed Jogi, son of Gulam Mohd Jogi, resident of Ganpatyar.
Upon their search, police recovered 40 capsules of Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus, 32 capsules of Spas Core-von Plus, and cash amounting to ₹12,200 from Zameer Ahmed Matta. From Irfan Ahmed Jogi, 16 capsules of Spas Core-von Plus and 28 capsules of Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus were recovered. The recovered items were seized and sealed on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 25/2025 under sections 8/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the concerned police station, and further investigation has been taken up.—(KNC)
