Two Black Bears Spotted Near NIT Srinagar
Srinagar 27/11/2025 (JKNN) Two black bears were reportedly spotted near NIT Srinagar late last night. Awami Reporter Bilal Bhat, while speaking to JKNews Nation, said that Issar Mir, the owner of an Italian restaurant, checked the CCTV footage and immediately informed them after noticing the bears.
Panic gripped the local residents after reports of a wild animal sighting in the area. Following the incident, the Wildlife Department issued an urgent advisory, asking people to remain indoors and avoid venturing into isolated spots.
Officials said teams have been deployed to monitor the situation, and residents have been urged to immediately report any further movement of the animal. The department assured that necessary measures are being taken to ensure public safety.
According to the reporter, the Wildlife Department was informed early this morning and officials promptly reached the spot. They are currently monitoring the area for any movement of the animals.
