Two accused involved in Gandhi Nagar firing incident arrested: SSP Jammu

Jammu, July 25 (KS) : Two youth sustained bullet injuries after a youth who was allegedly taking selfies with a fire arm at Valmiki Colony falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar Police station.
A senior police officer told news agency Kashmir Scrol said that an information was received at Police Station Gandhi Nagar regarding a firing incident near Aquaf market where two persons in an Innova car bearing registration number JK21G-7888 hit himself and other by mishandling of pistol. On this both the injured were shifted to GMC for treatment.
He said that police teams of Police Station Gandhi Nagar under the supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid assisted by SDPO South Sachit Sharma and SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma reached at the location and seized the vehicle.
During investigation it came to fore that the vehicle belonged to person namely Sachin Patiyal, son of Kulwant Singh of Rajinderpura Baguna Tehsil Vijaypur District Samba who gave his vehicle to his driver namely Deepak Masih, son of Parkash Masih of Valmiki Colony Gandhi Nagar Jammu who also brought along three persons namely Akshay alias Bobby, Manish and Vishal. Moreover there was an unlicensed pistol in the Innova car which Akshay took in his hands and due to negligent handling of weapon he hit himself and another person namely Manish.
“In this regard, a case FIR Number 185/2023 under sections 3/25 Arms Act and 337 IPC has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and two persons namely Sachin Patiyal, son of Kulwant Singh of Rajinderpura Baguna Tehsil Vijaypur District Samba and Deepak Masih, son of Parkash Masih of Valmiki Colony Gandhi Nagar Jammu have been arrested and the unlicensed weapon and vehicle have been seized”, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli said, adding that further investigation of the case is going on.(KS)
