Tri-Series: Pakistan Secures Historic Victory Against South Africa
Srinagar 12/02/2025 (JKNN) In a thrilling match of the ongoing tri-series in Pakistan, the national team achieved a record-breaking partnership. Captain Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman played an outstanding innings, leading Pakistan to successfully chase a massive 353-run target against the strong South African side.
Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha have utterly flattened South Africa with a partnership that has crossed 250 in just 221 balls.
This remarkable performance marks a historic achievement for Pakistan in the series.
Pakistan pulled off a stunning chase of 353 against South Africa in the 3rd ODI, thanks to a record-breaking 260-run partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha. The duo’s stand off just 229 balls guided Pakistan to victory with an over to spare. Agha scored a blistering 134 off 103 balls, while Rizwan remained unbeaten on 122 off 128.
Earlier, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman set the tone with a quick 57-run opening stand in just 6.1 overs. South Africa, led by half-centuries from Heinrich Klaasen (87 off 56), Temba Bavuma (82), and Matthew Breetzke (83), posted a formidable 352/5. Bavuma, after laying a solid foundation, was unfortunate to be run out. Klaasen’s late acceleration powered the Proteas to their total.
South Africa made four changes to their XI, bringing in Klaasen and Keshav Maharaj. Pakistan, having announced their XI a day earlier, left out Haris Rauf and Kamran Ghulam.
