Tragedy on Jammu-Srinagar Highway: Passenger Cab Plunges into Gorge, Multiple Fatalities Feared
Srinagar, Mar 29, KDC: Tragedy struck on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway near Battery Cheshma in Ramban area as a passenger cab en route to Srinagar from Jammu veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge.
Reports reaching Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com, indicate that several passengers onboard the cab are feared dead in the incident.
Authorities including the police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Civil Quick Response Team (QRT) from Ramban swiftly responded to the scene. However, due to the challenging terrain of the deep gorge compounded by darkness and rainy weather conditions, rescue operations have not yet commenced.
