Srinagar, Mar. 16 (KS): A 78-year-old tourist died of a cardiac arrest in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday evening.
Sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that one elderly tourist, aged around 78 years old, was identified as Shuhangahu Sekhar Banerjee, son of the late Becharam of Howarah, West Bengal, who was on a Pahalgam visit along with his son.
Sources said that they were staying at a hotel in Pahalgam, where Banerjee developed some breathing problems and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors referred him to GMC Anantnag; however, on arrival, he was declared dead.
Meanwhile, police took cognizance of this incident.
This is the second such case in the last 3 days at the world-famous health resort Pahalgam. On Thursday, Bhaskar Senmunshi, a 33-year-old tourist from Kolkata, suffered a severe heart attack and was later found dead at a hospital by doctors.(KS)
