Three-Storey Residential House Damaged in Srinagar Blaze

Srinagar, Nov 29, KNT: A fire broke out on Saturday at Rangar Stop in Khanyar area of Srinagar, damaging a residential house, officials said.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control before it could spread to nearby structures.
Officials said one three-storey residential house was affected in the incident, with the fire confined to the second floor. No loss of life or injuries were reported.
Fire tenders from Hazratbal and Rainawari command Srinagar were pressed into service to tackle the blaze. Firefighters worked for over an hour to control the flames and prevent further damage.
Police said that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Local inhabitants said the timely arrival of fire services prevented the incident from turning into a major tragedy, as the locality is densely populated and vulnerable to rapid fire spread. [KNT]
