There is need to prevent resurgence of past tensions in Kashmir: GN Azad

Sopore, Dec 24 (KNO): Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) president Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday expressed concern over the killing of former cop in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and called for action to prevent resurgence of past tensions in Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a public meeting in Sopore outskirts, Azad as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that there is need for immediate measures to quell any potential that can escalate situation in Kashmir like the past.
“6-7 months ago Kashmir was free from such incidents due to efforts of the government, but today’s situation is worrisome,” he said.
On civilian deaths and killing of army soldiers in Poonch, he said that the situation is critical and community people, political parties and government need to work collectively to stop terrorism—(KNO)
