Take Part in ‘Your Money, Your Right’ Movement, Says PM Modi
New Delhi, Dec 10 (KNC): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday urged citizens across the country to actively participate in the nationwide ‘Your Money, Your Right’ movement, which has already facilitated the return of ₹2,000 crore worth of unclaimed financial assets to their rightful owners within just two months.
The campaign, launched on October 4, aims to simplify the process of reclaiming unclaimed money such as bank deposits, insurance payouts, dividends, mutual fund amounts, shares, and pensions.
In a social media post, PM Modi as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC said, “Through the coordinated efforts of the government, regulatory bodies, banks, and financial institutions, nearly ₹2,000 crore has already been returned to rightful owners.”
Between October and December 5, 2025, special facilitation camps were organised in 477 districts, drawing participation from public representatives, district administrations, and officials of various financial institutions.
Highlighting the need for greater awareness, the Prime Minister added, “We want to scale up this movement in the coming days. I urge everyone to take part in the ‘Your Money, Your Right’ movement.”
Sharing the scale of unclaimed wealth, Modi noted that, Banks hold around ₹78,000 crore of unclaimed funds.
Insurance companies have nearly ₹14,000 crore pending. Mutual fund houses hold around ₹3,000 crore unclaimed. Unclaimed dividends amount to nearly ₹9,000 crore
The government has urged citizens to verify and claim their dues at the earliest through official platforms. (KNC)
