Bandipora, Sep 26 (GNS): Many students of Government Higher Secondary School Ajas in Bandipora district of north Kashmir are bunking classes more frequently from last so many days, only to be seen loitering around in streets and paddy fields.

Witnesses told GNS that students belonging to GHSS Ajas are being seen roaming around in the paddy fields with school uniforms still on during official hours. The eyewitnesses have maintained that despite the trend catching pace with time, the school administration has miserably failed to curb the practice.

They alleged the school of non-seriousness and reluctance in shaping the future of the students. “How come students are leaving the school before working hours? I saw multiple students enjoying in the paddy fields frequently with their uniforms still on. The school administration is highly lackadaisical towards the imminent matter,” they alleged.

Principal of GHSS Ajas, Nazir Wani, told GNS that he will look into the matter as he informed the reporter that the issue came to his notice through this reporter only.

“We’re already on it. I’ve framed the shortage list. We hold parent meetings every month on the 26th. We have a record of every parent meeting held till now. I’ve been posted here for about two months, and in these two months, I’ve held two parent meetings so far. Today, the parent meeting was deferred to the 29th due to some official commitment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chief Education Officer Bandipora, Mohd Amin Beigh, told GNS that he’ll call the concerned parties and ask them to accordingly look into the matter. (GNS)
