Strong Winds Disrupt Flight Operations at Srinagar Airport, 22 Flights Cancelled

Srinagar, Mar 28 (JKNS): Gusty winds disrupted flight operations at Srinagar International Airport on Friday , leading to cancellations of about 22 flights and delays throughout the day.
An official told news agency JKNS that wind speeds of 17 knots, gusting up to 27 knots, impacted operations. “Due to the weather conditions, the airport could accommodate only 11 arrivals and 11 departures from 6:30 a.m. to 4:50 p.m.,” he said.
A total of nine flights were canceled, while two others had to be diverted. The adverse conditions also resulted in significant delays for most remaining flights, causing inconvenience to passengers.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and further updates on flight schedules are expected by 6:30 p.m. Meanwhile, travelers have been advised to stay in touch with airlines for real-time updates on departures and arrivals. (JKNS)
