Soldier dies in cylinder blast

Kargil, July 11, KNT: A soldier from Kashmir Valley died in a cylinder blast in Leh Ladakh this evening.
The soldier has been identified as Shahnawaz Aziz Bhat, a resident of Sahoo Sachin village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
He was affiliated with 13 Guards RR.
Ghulam Hasan Bhat -the brother of the deceased soldier told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that Shahnawaz was present on the site of maintenance work, when an Oxygen cylinder exploded, leading to his death.
The victim is survived by his wife and two little children.
When contacted, PRO Leh, Lieutenant Colonel PS Sandhu confirmed the death of the soldier. [KNT]
