Security Forces Recover Significant Cache of Arms and Ammunition in Banihal

Banihal, Nov. 23 (KS) : Security forces have successfully recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition in the forest area of Sarniyal in Banihal.
An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that the cache includes various items such as 7.62 mm cartridges (113 nos.), AK 47 Mag (03 nos.), 7.62 mm sniper cartridges (07 nos.), PIKA rounds (05 nos.), 9mm cartridges (02 nos.), Chinese grenades (03 nos.), Pak grenades (01 no.), UBGL (02 nos.), detonators (02 nos.), fuses (02 nos.), FM transceiver (radio set) (01 no.), PIKA belt (01 no.), and 300 grams of explosive material.
He said the efforts of the security forces in conducting this successful operation are commendable and reflect their dedication to maintaining peace and safety in the area.
The officer said that this recovery will undoubtedly help in thwarting any potential threat posed by militants or anti-social elements.
Hs said investigation into the matter is currently underway, as the authorities work tirelessly to identify the source and intended use of these arms and ammunition. This demonstration of a proactive approach towards maintaining law and order is reassuring for the local communities and instills a sense of security. (KS)
