Saffron Bliss: BOMIS Students Explore the Magic of Saffron Harvest
Under the crisp autumn sky, BOMIS students set foot in the legendary saffron fields of Pampore, where history, culture, and nature converge.
Surrounded by the breathtaking expanse of the famed Karewas of Pampore, they witnessed the magic of saffron—the Red Gold—blooming in vibrant shades of purple. Guided by seasoned hands, the students delicately harvested the precious saffron flowers, learning the meticulous craft passed down through generations.
With each bloom carefully gathered, they uncovered the stories woven into the land, the hard work and dedication behind this prized spice, and the intricate steps required to transform a humble flower into one of the world’s most valuable treasures.
This experience reflects BOMIS’s deep commitment to experiential learning, where knowledge is not confined to textbooks but flourishes in real-world encounters that ignite curiosity, foster understanding, and cultivate a lasting connection with the world around them.
In the heart of these fields, our students not only learned the science behind saffron cultivation but also absorbed the profound cultural significance of this ‘Red Gold,’ making their learning as rich and vibrant as the fields themselves.
