Rising Road Accidents: A Shared Responsibility of Parents, Schools, and Authorities
Rising Road Accidents: A Shared Responsibility of Parents, Schools, and Authorities”

16/11/2024 (JKNN) In recent times, road accidents have become alarmingly frequent, raising concerns about public safety. While the initial reaction is often to hold the traffic police and authorities accountable, it is crucial to examine our collective responsibilities.
Parents play a pivotal role in this matter. Many parents allow their teenage children to drive bikes, scooters, or cars, either to fulfill their wishes or out of convenience, without considering their lack of maturity and driving skills. Such decisions not only put the teenagers at risk but also endanger others on the road. It is essential for parents to exercise stricter control and ensure that their children are properly trained and legally permitted to drive.
Similarly, educational institutions must take a proactive approach. Schools and colleges should implement strict policies prohibiting students from bringing or using vehicles unless they meet the legal age and requirements.
Awareness campaigns and educational sessions about road safety can further help instill a sense of responsibility among students.
While the traffic police and authorities have a duty to enforce rules and regulations, the onus also lies on society as a whole to address these issues. By working together—parents, schools, and authorities alike—we can create a safer environment and reduce the alarming rise in road accidents.
