Response to August 5, 2019 should be as big as wrongs committed with people of J&K: Sajad Lone

Resolution passed by Assembly ambiguous

KNO Correspondent

Srinagar, Nov 08 (KNO): Peoples Conference president Sajad Gani Lone on Friday said that the response of the J&K Assembly to August 5, 2019 should be as big as wrongs done to Kashmiris on that day.

Speaking during the Motion of Thanks on the LG’s address, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Sajad said that response to August 5, 2019 should be as big as wrongs done to Kashmiris on that day.

“This is the most disempowered assembly but this House is the first assemblage after August 5, 2019 and our response to those changes should commensurate with the wrongs perpetuated on Kashmiris on that day,” he said.

He said that the resolution brought by the Government on August 5 changes is “ambiguous” and “meek”.

“There are certain ambiguities in the resolution. I beg you to reconsider it,” he said.

Lone said the police verification is a sword over our youth.

“In the whole country, an individual is verified but here the whole family and even extended family is verified,” he said, adding that police verification should be brought at par with other parts of the country—(KNO)
