Radical Cholecystectomy Performed for Gall Bladder Cancer at Safa Marwa Hospital srinagar
17/07/2024 (JKNN) We are pleased to share our accomplishments in the healthcare sector in J&K. Our center has become a high-volume hub for various General, Urological, and Gynecological-Obstetrics surgeries. Recently, Dr. Faroz Khan, a senior Surgical Gastroenterologist, operated on an elderly female from the outskirts of Srinagar for gall bladder cancer. Dr. Faroz has extensive experience in gastrointestinal malignancies and advanced laparoscopic surgeries.The patient consulted Dr. Faroz Khan with complaints of abdominal pain. She underwent a thorough examination and investigation, which led to a diagnosis of gall bladder growth. The patient’s attendants were informed about the management plan and related issues. A radical cholecystectomy was performed, involving the removal of the liver, gall bladder, and lymph node dissection. The surgery lasted about three hours with less than 100 mL of blood loss.The surgical team included Dr. Faroz Khan (Surgeon), Dr. Masood Rashid (Anesthetist), and assistants Ajaz, Mohsin, Shakir, Sahil, Iqra, and Muddasir. The patient recovered well, was allowed oral intake, and was mobilized on the first postoperative day. She was discharged on the third day and advised to follow up regularly in the outpatient department.
