Pune: Sex racket busted in Koregaon Park, woman from Thailand arrested
Police have arrested the woman identified as “Mookda Gaethaisongstate” under section 370 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).
Pune city police have busted a sex racket run by a woman hailing from Thailand from an apartment on South Main road in the Koregaon Park area. Police have arrested the woman identified as “Mookda Gaethaisongstate” under section 370 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).
Police havaldar Raees Baig lodged the first information report (FIR) in this case at the Koregaon Park police station on Thursday. Police raided an apartment in a building on the South Main Road around 10 pm on Wednesday. Cops rescued two women, who are also from Thailand, from the spot.
Police said the arrested accused had allegedly called these two women from Thailand to India on the premise of working at beauty parlours, but later lured them into prostitution.
Police inspector Chetan More, the investigating officer said, “The woman has been arrested in this case and the two women who have been rescued are also from Thailand and came to India on a business visa. A court has remanded the arrested accused to police custody till February 19. Further investigation is on”.
Police said a probe is on to find if the arrested accused woman had links with local sex racketeers.TIE
