Property of notorious drug peddler worth lakhs attached in Kulgam
Kulgam, Feb 5 (KS) : Police in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district claimed to have seized the property of a drug peddler under the NDPS Act.
An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that the property bearing survey no. 353/01 attached under section 68-F (2) of NDPS Act 1985.
The property attached, police said, belongs to a notorious drug peddler named Khurshid Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd Ismail Bhat resident of Sopat, Devsar.
The property was flagged as illegally acquired during the investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam Police.
“The property was prima facie acquired from the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the owner,” said the police.
Stating that the said drug peddler is involved in case FiR no. 63/2019 U/S 8/20, 15 of NDPSAct. (2) FIR No. 11/2021U/S 8/20,29 NDPS Act. (3) 31/2021 U/ 8/20,22 OF NDPS Act and is presently under PIT NDPS Act lodged at KOT Bhalwal Jammu the official added. (KS)
