Proclamation Orders Issued Against Four Active LeT Militants: Police

Srinagar, September 09(GNS) Police on Saturday said that proclamation orders have been issued against four active militants of Lashkar-i-Toiba oufit, who are absconders in many militant related cases.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that its SIU team of District Srinagar, with the assistance of police teams of districts Kulgam and Awantipora, affixed proclamations orders u/s 83 of CrPC on the residences of 04 active militants who are absconders in many militant cases.

The spokesman further stated that designated and Special Court under NIA Act, Srinagar issued General Non-Bailable warrants u/s 299/512 ,25 Police Act, read with 73 CrPC, followed by Proclamation orders dated 04.09.2023 u/s 82 CrPC against the following active militants namely Umais Ahmed Wani son of Nisar Ahmed wani resident of Chawalgam, Kulgam, Basit Ahmed Dar son of Late Abdul Rashid Dar resident of Redwani, Kulgam, Owais Ferooz son of Ferooz Ahmed resident of Festbal, Pampore and Momin Gulzar son of Gulzar Ahmed Mir resident of Firdose Colony, Eidgah, Srinagar, after their involvement was established in case FIR No. 127/2022 u/s 13 ,18,20,38 & 39 UA(P) Act, 7/25 IA Act of PS Parimpora, case FIR No 50/2022 u/s 121 ,121A ,307, 302 IPC , 7/27 A Act, 13,16, 18, 20 UAP Act of PS Soura
and case FIR No 02 /2023 u/s 13,18,21,39 UAP Act, 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Kothibagh.

By issuing these orders, the Hon’ble Court has directed the accused persons to appear before it within a period of 30 days from the date of publication of the proclamation, failing which proceedings under section 83 CrPC shall be initiated against them, he said.

Today, i.e., 09.09.2023, proclamation orders have been published in local newspapers namely Greater Kashmir and Kashmir Uzma, he said.

The proclamations orders were affixed on the conspicuous part of their residences and contents of proclamation orders were read over to the family members of accused persons in a language which they could comprehend, he said.

Copies of newspapers in which the proclamation orders were published were provided to their family members against proper receipts, he said.

Moreover, the orders were also affixed at conspicuous places of the towns wherein they resided.In addition, photography of each location was conducted as per due protocol.
The aforementioned proclamation orders were transmitted verbally along the roads and nearby locations also, he said.

Pertinent to mention here that the involment of said accused persons is necessitated in many terrorism-related cases in the UT of J&K.

The accused persons are presently active militants and are affiliated with the banned militant outfit LeT, reads the statement.(GNS)
