“Prime Minister Modi Renames Old Parliament Building ‘Samvidhan Sadan’ in Historic Transition to New Parliament”

19/09/2023 (JKNN) : The old parliament building will be named ‘Samvidhan Sadan (Constitution House),’ as announced today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his final speech from the historic structure.

He will lead all MPs on foot to the new parliament building, which will serve as the official Indian parliament from this point onward. The iconic old building, designed by British architects Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker, was completed in 1927 and has now reached 96 years of age.

It was deemed inadequate for modern requirements over the years.”
