Police takes cognizance of hurting religious sentiments of particular community
*Accused arrested, appeals people to desist from spreading rumours*
Srinagar, July 18 (KS):- Srinagar police has taken cognizance of hurting religious sentiments and arrested the accused.
A top police officer told news agency Kashmir Scroll that police has taken cognizance of the incident of posting of sensitive content against religious sentiments of a particular community by some individuals on SM platform.
He said that FIR No. 29/2024 u/s 299, 196 BNS has been registered in PS Shaheedganj and the accused have been arrested.
Common public is appealed to desist from spreading rumours/false information. They shouldn’t fall prey to false propaganda of anti-social elements, he said.
Legal action shall be taken against those who are found to be involved in provocative act/instigation. Srinagar Police, he added.(KS)
