Police Paste Wanted Posters of JeM Commander in J&K’s Doda, Rs 5 Lakh Reward Announced for Each Suspect
Doda, Feb 15, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir Police have installed wanted posters and hoardings of Saifullah, a Pakistani commander of the banned outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad, along with another unidentified suspect at prominent locations in Bhalesa area of Doda district as part of intensified security measures.
According to police sources, both suspects are believed to be aged between 20 to 30 years. The posters mention a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to the arrest of each individual.
Officials said the duo is suspected to be part of a militant group that recently engaged security forces in multiple encounters in forested areas of the district. The move to display posters in public places is aimed at seeking cooperation from locals and gathering actionable intelligence.
Security has been tightened across Bhalesa and adjoining areas. Naka points have been strengthened and vehicle checking has been intensified on key roads leading to forest belts. Joint teams of police and other security agencies have increased patrolling, particularly in vulnerable stretches.
Police have urged people to share any credible information regarding the suspects and assured confidentiality to informers.
The operation comes amid heightened vigilance in the Chenab Valley region following recent militant activity in forest zones. [KNT]
