Srinagar, July 26 (KS):- On the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to defeating terrorism and responding decisively to any hostile actions. Reflecting on the Kargil conflict, Modi emphasized India’s initial desire for peace, contrasting it with the duplicity shown by Pakistan, which ultimately led to the triumph of truth over falsehood.

Addressing a gathering in Kargil as per news agency Kashmir Scroll Modi criticized Pakistan for not learning from its past mistakes and  highlighting its continued support for proxy wars in Jammu and Kashmir.

He asserted that Indian forces are prepared to crush terrorism and provide a strong response to any enemy designs.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the progress seen in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Ladakh, in the five years since the abrogation of Article 370.

He pointed out the prosperity and development in these regions as evidence of the positive outcomes of this decision.

Additionally, Modi took the opportunity to criticize the Congress party, accusing it of defaming the armed forces and neglecting their demands in the past.

“We were trying for peace then but the enemy showed its dual face and always got defeated,” he said, adding that India didn’t win the Kargil war only but showed commitment towards the nation and the valour of brave forces.

He said that people are living a peaceful life in Ladakh as in the last five years, Ladakh’s budget has been raised from Rs 1100 Crore to Rs 6000 Crore and much more developmental projects are coming up.

He said that Kargil Vijay Divas is not the victory of any government but the victory of entire nation and it will continue to remain a big asset for the nation.
