Srinagar 23/03/2025 (JKNN) – Following the example of Saderbal Hazratbal, now the residents of Awanta Bhawan, Srinagar, have taken matters into their own hands by repairing a dangerous pothole themselves. The pothole, located on a busy road frequently used by commuters, had been a major risk for both pedestrians and vehicles.
Despite repeated requests to the authorities, no action was taken. Frustrated by the inaction, the locals decided to fix the pothole on their own. Using their own money, they purchased construction materials and filled the pothole to prevent accidents.
Expressing their disappointment, the residents said, “It is shameful that authorities ignored our repeated requests. We were forced to take action ourselves to ensure the safety of our community.”
This incident highlights the growing frustration among citizens over neglected road maintenance. Locals have urged the authorities to take responsibility and address such issues promptly before more residents are compelled to do the work themselves.
