Mudslide At Bumhama Forces Closure of Kupwara-Sopore Highway; Clearance Operation Underway

Kupwara, Jun 10 (GNS): A major mudslide at Bumhama area in Kupwara has forced complete closure of Kupwara-Sopore highway.

Reports reaching GNS said that a major mudslide was witnessed this evening and soon after the debris spread along the highway disconnecting the district headquarters Kupwara with other adjacent districts.

Soon after the incident was reported, the district administration swung into action and launched a clearance operation at the site.

The clearance operation continued, when this report was being filed.
