Motorcyclist dies after collision with SRTC truck in Awantipora
Awantipora, Dec 21, KNT: A 22-year-old motorcyclist lost his life following a collision with a JKSRTC truck on Friday night.
The victim, identified as Muhammad Zahid Gassi, was critically injured in the accident, which occurred in the Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Eyewitnesses said that the collision took place on a busy stretch of the highway, leaving Gassi severely injured. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment and later referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
The victim succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment, hospital sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law. [KNT]
