Minimum Temperatures Recorded Today
The Meteorological data recorded across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh today indicates widespread cold wave conditions, with several regions experiencing sub-zero temperatures. High-altitude and valley areas continue to witness freezing conditions, while parts of Jammu division recorded relatively milder readings.
Kashmir Region
The Kashmir Valley remained under intense cold conditions. Sonamarg recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the region at -6.1°C, followed closely by Pulwama -5.8°C, Shopian -5.4°C, Anantnag -5.3°C, and Awantipora -5.2°C. Pampore registered -5.0°C, while Pahalgam stood at -4.4°C and Sopore also recorded -4.4°C.
Srinagar city recorded -3.4°C, while Srinagar Airport registered -3.8°C. Other notable readings include Qazigund -3.8°C, Kupwara -3.7°C, Budgam -3.7°C, Beerwah (Budgam) -3.8°C, Zethan Rafiabad -3.7°C, Gulmarg -4.0°C, Bandipora -2.3°C, Ganderbal -1.6°C, and Baramulla -0.4°C. Aloosa (Bandipora) also recorded -0.4°C. Kokernag registered -2.0°C. Data for Kulgam was unavailable.

Jammu Region
The Jammu division recorded comparatively higher temperatures. Jammu city registered 7.2°C, while Jammu Airport recorded 7.3°C. Katra stood at 6.6°C, Poonch 6.1°C, and Kathua 5.8°C. Reasi recorded 4.2°C, Batote 3.1°C, Ramban 3.0°C, Doda 3.0°C, and Kishtwar 2.8°C.
Udhampur and Rajouri both recorded 1.0°C, Samba stood at 0.1°C, while Bhaderwah recorded -1.5°C. Banihal remained below freezing at -2.2°C.
Ladakh Region
Ladakh continued to experience extreme cold conditions. Hanle recorded the lowest temperature at -11.0°C, followed by Leh at -10.6°C. Kargil registered -8.4°C, while Nubra Valley recorded -6.1°C.
Cold wave conditions are expected to persist across higher reaches of Kashmir and Ladakh. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against freezing temperatures, especially during night and early morning hours.
