06/05.2024 (JKNN) “Today, at approximately 5:30 pm, a devastating fire erupted at Madrasa Siraj_ul_Uloom in Chatroo Kishtwar, engulfing all the buildings of Darsgah along with a residential house and a building of the Govt Block office.
Despite the ferocity of the blaze, thankfully, no casualties were reported, and all staff and students of the institute are confirmed safe.
Local residents played a crucial role in the initial containment of the fire, with additional support from the Indian Army, J&K Police, and the National Highway Authority of India, all collaborating to bring the situation under control.
However, the cause of the fire remains unknown, leaving authorities to launch an investigation into the incident to prevent such tragedies in the future.””In addition to the extensive damage to the buildings, the library of the institution also caught fire, resulting in the loss of all books and materials housed within. This further compounds the tragedy, as valuable resources for education and learning have been destroyed.
Efforts to rebuild and support the affected community will undoubtedly be essential in the aftermath of this devastating incident.
