Mason Killed, Two Labourers Injured in Srinagar Construction Accident

Srinagar, Sep 30, KNT: Tragedy struck in the Shamswari Kailashpora area of Srinagar’s uptown when a 60-year-old mason lost his life in a construction accident.
The incident occurred when an old roof of a demolished structure suddenly collapsed, trapping Muhammad Ismail, a resident of Eidgah Srinagar, and two other labourers underneath.
Muhammad Isamill was rushed to SMHS Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The two labourers, who sustained injuries in the incident, are currently receiving medical treatment.
Eyewitnesses told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the accident happened when the workers were dismantling the old structure. The roof’s sudden collapse caught them off guard, resulting in the fatal outcome.
Police after the mishap arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. [KNT]
