Man Gets To 20-Year RI For Raping Minor
Bhopal/Jabalpur: A special Pocso court in Jabalpur sentenced a person to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a penalty of Rs 2,000 for raping his minor sister-in-law.
According to the prosecution, the mother of the survivor lodged a complaint at a police station in Jabalpur on May 1, 2023.
She told police that her elder daughter got married six years ago but she died a year ago. Her husband came to participate in the final rites but in the evening, he took the complainant’s younger daughter with him, and she didn’t return home after that.
After the complaint was lodged, police registered a case of abduction and started investigation in the matter.
Cops rescued the girl, and her medical examination was conducted. Based on her medical report and her statement, police registered a case of rape against her brother-in-law under the relevant sections of IPC and Pocso Act and filed a charge-sheet against the accused in a special POCSO court. TOI
