Major Cancer Surgery Successfully Performed at ASCOMS Jammu: Dr Ranjeet Rathore and Team Restore Hope

Jammu, Dec 18 (KNC): Bringing advanced uro-oncological surgery and renewed hope to economically weaker patients, Dr Ranjeet Rathore and his team have successfully performed a major cancer surgery at ASCOMS, Jammu.
As pwr news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, The patient, hailing from Poonch district, was diagnosed with a large bladder tumour measuring approximately 6×6 cm involving the lateral wall of the urinary bladder. Following TURBT, the biopsy confirmed Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer. The patient was subsequently planned for complete removal of the urinary bladder along with the prostate and seminal vesicles, with urinary diversion through an ileal conduit (Radical Cystectomy with Ileal Conduit).
Notably, the entire procedure was carried out free of cost under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
The surgery was performed by Dr Ranjeet Rathore, Associate Professor and Head of Unit (Uro-II), ASCOMS Jammu, assisted by Dr Avinash Rajra (Oncosurgeon, AOI), Dr Owais Zargar (Assistant Professor), Dr Sunandan Gupta, Dr Sanchi Gupta, Dr Muzamil Mohammad (Intern) and Dr Saqib Shafi (Intern).
Expert anaesthesia support was provided by Dr Nandita Mehta (Professor & Head, Department of Anaesthesia, ASCOMS Jammu), Dr Shikha Sharma (Professor, Anaesthesia), Dr Rasmeet Kour (Associate Professor, Anaesthesia) and Dr Nashrah (Assistant Professor, Anaesthesia), along with dedicated paramedical support from Mr Vishal, Mr Ravi and Mr Kartar.
