Landslide causes Jammu-Poonch highway to shut down in Mendhar

Poonch, Sep 14 (NVI): The Jammu-Poonch highway has been shut down due to a landslide at Bhata Dhurian in the Mendhar area of Poonch district on Saturday morning.

An official told the News Vibes of India (NVI), that traffic movement has been badly affected due to the landslide on the highly important highway.

He said, the authorities have set teams out to clear the landslide and make the traffic movement effective again; however, there is no target date stated for when the road would reopen.

Moreover, motorists are instructed to use alternative routes because the highway is currently still closed. So far, there are no hurt or killed persons reported by the landslide.—(News Vibes of India)
