Kulgam: Four Militants, Two Soldiers Killed in Twin Encounters

Kulgam July 06, KDC: In twin encounters in Kulgam district, four militants have been killed, although the exact number is still awaited.

Sources informed news agency Kashmir Dot Com that four terrorists were killed in the Frisal Chinnigam area and one army man in the Modergam Kulgam area. Additionally, the target house in the Modergam Kulgam operation has been destroyed.

During these operations, Lance Naik Pradeep Nain Para commando was killed in action in Modergam, and Havaldar Raj Kumar of the 01 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) was killed in action in Frisal Kulgam. Both soldiers were critically injured during the encounters and succumbed to their injuries at 92 Base Hospital.

Senior police officials have indicated that the operations mark a significant setback for the Hizbul Mujahideen, with the top commander, Farooq Nali, believed to be among those killed.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Police Zone Vidhi Kumar Birdi stated, “The encounter is still ongoing, some bodies have been spotted at the site, and details will be shared once the operation concludes.” (KDC)
