Kashmir Labour Unions Federation Meets Deputy Chief Minister in Jammu

Jammu, November 29, 2024: (JKNN) A delegation of the Kashmir Labour Unions Federation met the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu today. The meeting was convened to discuss and address various pressing issues faced by laborers across the region.

During the discussion, the Federation highlighted key challenges affecting the workforce, including delays in wage disbursement, lack of social security measures, unsafe working conditions, and inadequate implementation of labor welfare schemes. The Federation also emphasized the need for streamlined policies to ensure fair treatment and better livelihoods for laborers in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister attentively listened to the concerns raised by the delegation and assured the Federation that the administration is committed to addressing these issues on a priority basis. He pledged to initiate necessary steps and directed officials to work on viable solutions to improve the welfare and working conditions of laborers in the region.

The Deputy Chief Minister lauded the Federation’s efforts in bringing these issues to light and reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of the labor community. He also assured the delegation that regular engagement and dialogue with labor unions would be maintained to ensure their concerns are effectively addressed.

The meeting concluded with the Federation expressing hope for timely resolution of the highlighted issues and thanking the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister for his support and proactive approach.
