JKPICCA Announces Results of 2024 Elections, Welcomes New Leadership

Lassipora, 4th November 2024 – The Jammu and Kashmir Fruits and Vegetables Processing and Integrated Cold Chain Association (JKPICCA) has successfully completed its 2024 election process for office bearers, with key positions filled unopposed. The newly elected leadership was formally introduced at a special ceremony held today at the SIDCO Conference Hall, IGC Lassipora.
The newly elected office bearers are:
President: Mr. Ejaz Qureshi (Kashmir Fruit Preserver, IGC Lassipora)
Vice President: Mr. Mohd Shaban Bhat (Panchal Agro, IGC Lassipora)
General Secretary: Mr. Abdul Rashid Allai (Al Meezan Agro Fresh, IGC Lassipora)
The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders and members of the association, including prominent figures such as the Joint Director of the Department of Industries and Commerce, the Managing Director of KPDCL, representatives from the Department of Police, and industrial unit holders from IGC Lassipora. The event concluded with a luncheon to celebrate the successful election and the beginning of a new leadership era for JKPICCA.
In his address, newly elected President Mr. Ejaz Qureshi expressed his gratitude and shared his vision for the association: “I am truly honored to have been elected as President of JKPICCA. This is an exciting opportunity for us to enhance the fruits and vegetables processing sector and improve the cold chain infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. Together, with the support of our members, we will work towards ensuring the sustainable growth of this industry, benefiting all stakeholders involved.”
Vice President Mr. Mohd Shaban Bhat echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing collaboration and progress: “This is a significant moment for the industry, and I am proud to be part of this new leadership team. Our focus will be on strengthening the cold chain and processing facilities, creating better opportunities for our unemployed youth and fruit growers . I look forward to working alongside the new leadership to bring about positive change and innovation in our sector.”
The election process, which followed a call for nominations and subsequent scrutiny, was overseen by the Election Commission of JKPICCA, which congratulated the newly elected office bearers and thanked all members for their active participation.
The election results reflect a continued commitment to the advancement of the processing and cold chain sectors in the region, which are vital for improving the post-harvest management and ensuring that fruits and vegetables reach markets in optimal condition.
