JK Power Employees Coordination Committee (JKPECC) Thanks Hon’ble CM and Education Minister for Reinstating November Exams, Appeals for Resolution of Power Department Concerns
30/10/2024 Srinagar, (JKNN) The Jammu Kashmir Power Employees Coordination Committee (JKPECC), representing various trade unions within the Power Development Department (PDD), extends heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and Education Minister for the compassionate decision to reconsider the exam schedule, moving it back to the November session for students up to Class 9. This adjustment is anticipated to alleviate stress and provide students with sufficient preparation time. JKPECC commends the administration’s commitment to prioritizing the well-being and academic success of students, showcasing visionary and student-centric leadership.
In a humble submission to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of J&K UT, also the Power Minister, JKPECC highlights critical issues faced by PDD employees since the transition to Union Territory status. Employees express concerns over the department’s unbundling without stakeholder consent, which has reportedly led to significant challenges for both staff and the public. Key grievances include limited access to essential provisions like PAYSYS and budgetary salary support, dependency on Grant in Aid (GIA), and unresolved SRO 43 compassionate appointments. Additionally, employees call for the regularization of long-serving daily wagers, delayed departmental promotions, and improvements to HR policies, especially for the non-gazetted cadre.
JKPECC earnestly requests the Hon’ble CM to consider these pressing issues, hoping for a sympathetic and timely resolution to restore stability and morale among thousands of PDD employees.
