J&K Police Cautions Netizens On Fake ‘Official’ Facebook Account of ADGP Jammu Anand Jain

Jammu, Jan 2 (KS): Jammu and Kashmir Police have cautioned netizens about the fake ‘official’ Facebook account of Additional Director General of Police Jammu Anand Jain.

“It has come to our attention that there is a fake Facebook official account of Zonal Police Headquarters, Jammu circulating on social media platforms, posing as ADGP Jammu Anand Jain created by one Ashish Kumar having mobile number 09348612039 the screenshot of the fake account”, reads the statement issued to news agency Kashmir Scroll.

“The impostor introduced himself as Commandant CRPF Bantalab as Security Officer, close friend of Sh. Anand Jain Worthy ADGP Jammu and stated that he has been transferred to Telangana, and wants to sell his household / electronic items which he cannot carry to a new place of posting. The subject offered to sell the said items amounting to Rs.70000/- and requested to send the amount through Google Pay & Phone Pay Number 9175046359 in the name of Manoj Mishra”, reads the statement.

“We want to assure you that this account is not authorized or affiliated with our official Facebook as ADGP Jammu Sh. Anand Jain.”

“We take matters of misinformation and impersonation seriously. Our official social media accounts are official accounts and any communication outside of these channels should be treated with caution”, reads the statement.

“Please be vigilant and avoid engaging with any content or messages from the fake account. We are actively working to address this issue and have reported it to the respective platform for immediate action”, the statement reads further. (KS)
