J&K Govt Suspends Section Officer Amid CBI Probe
Srinagar, Mar 12, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended a Section Officer in the Agriculture Production Department (Animal/Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries) in connection with an ongoing Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe.
As per an official order issued by Shailendra Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Asif Ahmad Bhat, serving as Section Officer in the department, has been placed under suspension with effect from March 7, 2025.
The move follows the registration of an FIR (RC0042025A0002) against Bhat by the CBI’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu) on March 5, 2025. Authorities stated that the suspension has been enforced under the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1956, pending further investigation.
