Jammu Police Produces Charge-Sheet in Terror Case
Jammu,Feb 12 (KS) : The Jammu police has presented a charge-sheet in the court of 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu (NIA) against two individuals, Abdul Waris and Masrat Hussain, in a terror case.
An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll, the e case, registered under FIR No. 255/2010, encompasses various sections of the law, including 13, 17, 20 UA(P) Act, and 120-B RPC. The investigation revealed that on 25.10.2010, the police apprehended Abdul Waris and Masrat Hussain near Vaishnavi Dham during a routine naka checking. Upon questioning, they disclosed their identities and were found to be in possession of a considerable amount of cash, anti-national materials, and printed letter pads of banned terror outfits.
The official said that further investigation revealed shocking details, as both accused individuals confessed to having crossed the LoC from Poonch and receiving training in Pakistan around a decade ago. They admitted to being affiliated with commanders of HM/LeT outfits, with the intention of carrying out militant activities in Jammu and Kashmir. The recovered money was reportedly meant to finance insurgent activities and recruit local youths in Doda and Kishtwar he said.
The official further said that the comprehensive investigation conducted by the Jammu police has substantiated charges against the accused, with offences under sections 13, 17, 20 UA(P) Act, and 120-B/RPC being established. While the accused are currently out on bail, the chargesheet has been presented in the Hon’ble Court of 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu (NIA) to facilitate a fair and just legal proceedings. (KS)
