Jammu Muslim Front accuses Omar Abdullah of ignoring Jammu Muslim community
Jammu, Dec 13, KNT: The Jammu Muslim Front (JMF) has strongly criticized Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for allegedly sidelining the concerns of Jammu’s Muslim community during a recent civil society meeting held in Jammu.
The Front expressed deep disappointment over what it termed a “deliberate disregard” for the issues faced by the Muslim community, calling it a continuation of neglect that has persisted since 1947.
In a statement to the news agency Kashmir News Trust, Chairman Shuja Zaffar and President Qazi Imran stated that the meeting, instead of addressing the genuine concerns of Jammu Muslims, devolved into a platform dominated by sycophantic gestures towards a section of the BJP.
“Those who opposed Articles 370 and 35A were given prominence, further alienating the Jammu Muslim community,” the statement read.
The Front had hoped that under the National Conference’s leadership, Jammu Muslims would have a chance to voice their grievances and seek redress. However, the meeting’s outcome only deepened the community’s sense of betrayal.
“We hold Omar Abdullah accountable for this glaring oversight and demand immediate corrective measures. The concerns of Jammu Muslims cannot and will not be ignored any longer,” the Front said.
“Jammu Muslim Front reaffirms its commitment to advocating for the rights and interests of the Jammu Muslim community. We will not remain silent or allow our voices to be drowned out,” the Front said. [KNT]
