Budgam, August 5, KNT: The biker from Pulwama whose video had gone viral on social media performing dangerous stunts in Pakharpora has been booked by police in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The biker has been identified as Amir Rashid Wagay, son of Abdul Rashid Wagay, a resident of Khaigam Pulwama.
Police said that Amir Rashid Wagay’s reckless behavior, as displayed in the video, not only posed a significant threat to his own life but also endangered the safety of pedestrians and other road users. Upon his detention, Amir Rashid W agay was booked under relevant sections of MV Act. Furthermore, the bike used in the dangerous stunts, found without a number plate and proper documents, was also seized.
The accused in another viral video has claimed that the video related to him was an older one – possibly a lie to evade the law.
Earlier, a girl reportedly hailing from Budgam also was taken to task and her bike was seized after she uploaded a video on social media showing her performing stunts without wearing a helmet. Her reckless and irresponsible act has drawn widespread flak.
Budgam Police have urged parents and guardians to take a proactive role in supervising and guiding the activities of their wards and encourage members of the public to report any similar incidents promptly. [KNT]
