Srinagar, Sep 29 (KNO): Congress candidate for Wagoora-Kreeri assembly seat, Irfan Hafiz Lone Sunday vowed to fight against the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP and the RSS as well.
Speaking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Lone said that the alliance between the Indian National Congress (INC) and National Conference (NC) was committed to resisting the political and social challenges imposed on Kashmir.
“We are united to challenge the injustice, oppression, and exploitation faced by the people of Kashmir,” he said.
He condemned the downgrading of Jammu and Kashmir from a state to a union territory and spoke out against policies that have led to widespread youth unemployment and land insecurity in the region.
Irfan became emotional as he recounted personal losses, revealing that he was in the 7th grade when his father was martyred.
“Like me, over 100,000 Kashmiris have lost their lives, including Kashmiri Pandits. The government’s promises of ‘Achhe Din’ following the revocation of Article 370 have proven hollow,” he said, citing the lack of improvement and worsening conditions, especially in Jammu.
Irfan, while calling for the alliance to extend beyond the elections, said that they will raise their voices peacefully, demanding justice and the restoration of our rights—(KNO)
