Srinagar 21/12/2023 (JKNN)) : In the IPL 2024 Auction, England batsman Phil Salt, who played for Delhi Capitals last season, was shocked as all 10 franchises refused to buy him.
Despite a successful stint with Delhi Capitals, scoring 218 runs in 9 matches, he went unsold with a base price of Rs 2 crore.
Salt expressed confusion and disappointment, especially considering his recent performance of a 57-ball 119 against West Indies.
The dynamics of player availability, especially with England’s T20Is scheduled in late May and the upcoming T20 World Cup in June, may have influenced the franchises’ decisions.
Meanwhile, other players like Rovman Powell, Mitchell Starc, and Pat Cummins fetched significant amounts in the Auction.
