19/01/2024 (JKNN) Out-of-favor Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan took a light-hearted jab at Mohammad Rizwan for his short run during the 3rd T20I clash between New Zealand and Pakistan. In a comical social media post, Dhawan, known for his wit, equated Rizwan’s struggle to make it past the crease with the sport of Kabaddi.

The incident unfolded in the 6th over of Pakistan’s run-chase, with Rizwan attempting to grab a brace after nudging a delivery from Matt Henry on the on-side. However, the 31-year-old lost his balance, nearly falling and even losing his bat in the process. Despite the challenge, Rizwan stretched to reach the crease, but replays revealed he had touched the ground a couple of centimeters before the crease.

Drawing a playful comparison to Kabaddi, where a player needs to touch the opposing team’s line to avoid getting caught, Dhawan posted a witty tweet with the three-word phrase, ‘Kabaddi Kabaddi Kabaddi.’ The tweet showcases Dhawan’s sense of humor and his knack for adding a lighthearted touch to on-field incidents.
