10/09/2023: (JKNN ): The rain in Colombo caused a delay in the India vs. Pakistan match during the Asia Cup 2023.
Babar Azam won the toss on Sunday and chose to field first. Unfortunately, India faced a setback as Shreyas Iyer couldn’t play due to a back spasm, with KL Rahul taking his place.
Jasprit Bumrah also returned to the playing 11, replacing Mohammed Shami. The Super 4 clash was scheduled to take place at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with the lingering threat of rain affecting the qualification for the tournament final. Pakistan entered the game with a win against Bangladesh in the first match of the second round, while India had a significant break since their last game against Nepal, which they won by 10 wickets (DLS method). The first match between these arch-rivals in the Asia Cup was washed out in Kandy, and the rainy weather persisted in Colombo for the past week.
