Husband who fired upon wife in Rajouri arrested, Weapon Recovered
Srinagar, 14 Sept: (KS) Husband fired upon his wife and left her seriously Injured in the intervening night of 13 and 14 September in Patrara area of Rajouri.
Official told Kashmir Scroll (KS) that in the intervening night of 13/14 Sept, an information was received at Sunderbani police station that one person namely Yashpal son of Tirth Ram resident of Patrara fired upon his wife with VDC .303 rifle resulting his wife namely Neelam Devi age 46, seriously injured, who was shifted to SDH Sunderbani by her other family members. Later the injured was referred to GMC Jammu for further treatment. He is also Sarpanch of Panchayat Halka Patrara
“On this information Case FIR No 63/2023 U/S 307/323 IPC and 30 Indian Arms Act was registered”, official said.
“Police team of PS Sunderbani rushed to the spot and collected all relevant evidence and arrested the accused Sarpanch Yashpal from Patrara, weapon of offence also stands recovered and seized”, official added.
“Injured lady succumbed to her injuries in GMC Jammu with which police have now added offence in Section 302 IPC in the instant case”, official further added.
Dead body of the deceased has been handed over to her legal heirs after completing all legal formalities.
Further investigation in this regard has been initiated. (KS)
