Harnessing the Power of Sports to Combat Drugs & Violence, Game Changer for the Youth: Imran Shah
“Envisions Anzullah as a Youth Sports Hub”
Anantnag, Dec 15: Emphasising the transformative power of sports, Senior National Conference (NC) leader and District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, on Sunday said that well-developed sports facilities for youth can usher in positive change and play a crucial role in steering young people away from drug abuse and violence.
Calling upon the government to develop Anzullah as a major sports hub, Shah noted that the area boasts a vast playground—larger than those presently available within Anantnag town—where youth from various localities regularly gather to participate in different sporting activities. He stressed that systematic development of this playground, coupled with essential amenities such as drinking water and toilet facilities, would significantly contribute to nurturing young talent and producing accomplished sportspersons.
Recalling Anzullah’s past, Shah said the area was once regarded as vulnerable and sensitive. However, owing to the collective efforts of the district administration and his own initiatives, it has witnessed a remarkable transformation, marked by a growing inclination among youth towards sports and other constructive pursuits.
Reaffirming the National Conference’s longstanding commitment to youth empowerment, Shah said the party has consistently prioritised the promotion of sports infrastructure and meaningful youth engagement. He expressed confidence that Anzullah is poised to emerge as a vibrant centre of sporting activity, offering hope, discipline, and a healthier future to the younger generation.
