Pakistan powered to a convincing nine-wicket victory over Australia in the second ODI at Adelaide Oval, tying the series with an emphatic performance. Haris Rauf’s fiery 5-29 spell dismantled Australia’s batting lineup, bowling them out for 163 in just 35 overs. Shaheen Afridi also contributed with 3-26.
The chase was anchored by a brilliant 137-run partnership between openers Saim Ayub, who scored a rapid 82 off 71 balls, and Abdullah Shafique, who remained unbeaten on 64. Pakistan comfortably reached the target in 26.3 overs, sealing their first win in Australia since 2017.
Australia’s batters struggled against Pakistan’s pace attack, with only Steve Smith making a notable contribution of 35 runs. After the bowlers laid the foundation, Ayub and Shafique’s steady and aggressive batting clinched the win. The series decider is set for Sunday, November 10, in Perth.
